Weston, MO Maternity Session | Dalton + Kaitlyn

Maternity is my favorite kind of session to shoot. Maybe it’s because of my own personal story of building my family through adoption, and never having the experience of bringing a child into the world myself, but the whole thing is just so mysterious and miraculous to me.

I would never trade my journey to motherhood. It is exactly what was supposed to happen. But I love when I get to be a small part of someone’s experience by documenting their journey through pregnancy.

Kaitlyn and Dalton are expecting their very first little one, a baby boy, in May! As a boy mom myself, I’m excited for all of the adventures they will have together.

After having to reschedule once due to the rain, we were finally able to meet up on my farm. It was a gorgeous evening with soft, dreamy light. It also didn’t hurt that Kaitlyn and Dalton are basically undercover models. They were so easy to work with and natural in front of the camera!

I pulled out one of my old, antique settees for a few shots, and the colors meshed perfectly!

As the sun began to set, we headed down to our little lake. Check out that glow. Stunning.
